Get to know Sunflower Lactation

Hi, I'm Shelby Powell, I'm an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and owner of Sunflower Lactation. After the birth of my first child I struggled with breastfeeding. I had read all the books, taken the classes and assumed it would come naturally. Boy was I wrong! With the help of volunteer breastfeeding support groups and IBCLC's I successfully breastfed 2 children, but it was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

My personal nursing journey lead me to become a volunteer breastfeeding support leader and eventually an IBCLC. I'm passionate about helping families reach their feeding goals because I've lived it myslef.
